March 05, 2003furnitureless ?!Yesterday, Mo and I sold our only futon/couch and blew all the money on dinner. Today, I plan on selling the bed and buying clothes with the money. Tomorrow... I'm thinking we don't really need dishes. What do you think? Yes, we are really that irresponsible. Not! Actually, we sold our futon to clear room for the new sofa and loveseat set that's being delivered next Tuesday. We had to leave work early to coordinate with the guy who bought our futon. And of course, he was done within half an hour so we figured we'd try this BYOB French restaurant I'd heard of called Tartine. Tartine turned out to be fabulous. I love the concept of BYOB. It saves so much money. And coupled with the fact that it was this cozy, inviting French restaurant which reminded me of those small family run places in Provence. Well, I was in heaven. Going back to the sofa and loveseat delivery. I am a little bit worried about the delivery men being able to get the new furniture up the stairs. Our building is an old pre-war walkup built in 1890. And it was a real bitch getting the old futon down the stairs. I hope it all works out. I'm having nightmares about living furnitureless because no sofa exists that can fit up those stairs. Our landlord assures us that no one has had a problem yet. But Mo wonders if he's getting our building mixed up with the other two he owns. Argh... I guess we'll find out soon.
